A Suprisingly Great Day

For no one particular reason today has been a great day.

I got up about an hour or so earlier than I normally do (around 6), and actually got out of bed then too. Which prompted me to make a few eggs for Teresa and myself, which is also unusual on a weekday.

I blazed before I ate so by the time I got to work I had a pleasant buzz instead of an impairing stone, which made the day at work go by a lot quicker. Plus I have been working on a feature of my own idea and code. I enjoy that a lot more than having to go back in and fix someone else's buggy code.

The weather has been right on point too. Warm but not too hot with a pleasant breeze and plenty of visibility to see the surrounding mountains. So the walk to the store on my lunch was very nice due to that. Sometimes its just too damn hot for me. I've only got 3 hours left at work today and can leave for a half day tomorrow, always a plus.

In October I'm going to the Orange Peel to see Girl Talk, Grand Buffet, and Hearts of Darkness. If you are in the general area and like hip-hop and club beats you should check it out. Its going to be a party, I'm sure.

As far as the game goes [not that anyone except me cares about it (except Sebastion who's cool), but fuck you guys] we are about to start Black Temple next week. Finally... I think we will down Kil'jaeden the Deceiver (last boss in the Burning Crusade) before the Wrath of the Lich King comes out. Cause we are supafly like that.

I'm going to wrap up the stuff I'm working on shortly and head to the house after that.

Later everyone.

p.s. - elise if you are reading this you should respond in some way to assure me of your continuing presence among the living. kktnxbye

This week

So this week was fairly uneventful. Did a lot of the usual stuff.

I got off early yesterday because I had to do some work at night. When I got home I hung out with Stan for a while and moved some speakers I had build for his little truck to his new truck. Then I made a grill for the speakers out of plexiglass and "Black'n'Blue Pearl" paint. We smoked some bowls and drank a 12 pack while we were doing that.

Teresa was kickin it in WCU with her dad and her friends there. Then Stan's Mom came outside to let us know there were Manwiches to be had. Considering how stoned we had just gotten that was like music to our ears. Didn't do too much after that. Stan went and hung out with his girlfriend person and I went down to the house to raid.

After the raid I worked on transferring the sites to the new servers we got. I configured the firewalls, Internet Information Server, and a few other things before I passed out. Apparently Teresa came back around 2. This morning she told me I tried to say something to her when she got in bed but it only came out as "hmm mrgh nomnomnom umph" and then I went back to sleep.

I'm about to head out of here and go have dinner with T's Dad and stepmom. Good times. She is bringing me a packed bowl from the house so it will be all good. Then I'm going to go home and clean the spare room. My buddy Alex is moving his stuff in tomorrow and it would be much harder to do with all that bullshit in the floor.

Anyways I guess that's that for now.

Peace bitches

Father's Day Weekend

So this weekend was a lot of good times.

Travis and Brittney came up this weekend to chill and partake in the harvest goodness. We had a lot of fun. Lots of drinking and smoking, of course. We made some special brownies and got down on those as well. Travis got some fireworks from Food Lion in town. Probably would have been a better idea to buy some in SC where they sell the good ones but oh well. We ended up getting a hold of some chocolate shrooms and a 5 strip. Saturday night consisted of tripping face and doing random shit. Finally burned the Chirstman tree, 6 months later, and shot off those fireworks. When 4 in the morning rolled around everyone started passing out. Sunday morning everyone got up later than planned and cleaned up. They headed back to Greenville for a Father's Day cookout and I did stuff around the house, mostly cleaning, while Teresa was at work.

That probably has something to do with why I'm so tired now. Tonight I'm not going to do much of anything except for raid Alar, smoke some bowls, and pass out relatively early.

Now I'm just waiting for 5 to roll around so that I can bounce out of here.

Oh, it also looks like my buddy Alex from the Lobster will be moving in with us before the start of next month. That should be good. Cut down on the bills some and he has a car and license so that helps out too.

Guess thats that for now.

harvest season

Today we ran out of gas 50yards from the gas station. Of course no one around had a gas can. Why would a gas station have gas cans? Thats just silly. I end up finding a two liter in T's car that is normally full of water, because her car leaks coolant, and using that with the help of a small stick to put gas in.

I also found out I can bring my mini-fridge to work and use it instead of having it take up space in the floor not being used.

So things have been going pretty smoothly the past week or two. I get up and go to work till around 5. Then I do things around the house, clean up, change clothes, go talk to my neighbor and smokin/drinkin buddy Stan. Usually smoke one or two at this point, first one of the day most of the time so I get silly high. Then around 7 I make dinner and chill until about 8 when I log on to WoW to raid till about 11 or 12. Thats about the point I start shutting things down and going to sleep. Not a bad schedule.

So the new job is going great. I like the people I work with and what I'm doing, which is the important part. The money is decent and will hopefully get better, which helps with the being so broke part. By the end of next month I should actually have some extra money. About damn time.

I've got to go back to court tomorrow. As far as I know that will be the last time for these charges. It looks like I have to plea to one of the Driving While Revoked charges and all the numerous others will be dropped. That is a lot better than most of the other lawyers I talked to were saying.

The fact I have to plea to one of the DWLRs will keep me from getting my license for another 6 months but that isn't a huge deal. I'm going to get a scooter sometime soon and I couldn't afford to do everything I need to do drive now anyway. Cause I have to do all of the following before I'll be able to drive my car
--Install and pay a monthly fee for an ignition interlock system
--Get insurance again, which is going to be astronomically high for me
--Replace my water pump, timing belt, several parts of my front suspension, and a few minor things
--Get a registration and new tag (more fees)
--Pay DMV reinstatement and DUI fees (and probably some others they aren't telling me about)
--Several things I'm forgetting about I'm sure

All of that is several thousand dollars, not to mention the fact gas is $4/gal. Anyways its almost 5 so I'm going to wrap things up here and head home, but I didn't have anything to do for the last 15 minutes so I figured might as well update this.

RIP Albert Hofmann

I owe many wonderful experiences to him. Some of my most profound thoughts and epiphanies occurred while under the effects of LSD. He will be remembered fondly by me and many I know.

Quoted from the BBC News

Albert Hofmann, the Swiss chemist who discovered the hallucinogenic drug LSD, has died of a heart attack at his home in Basel at the age of 102.

Mr Hofmann first produced LSD in 1938 while researching the medicinal uses of a crop fungus.

He accidentally ingested some of the drug and said later: "Everything I saw was distorted as in a warped mirror".

He hoped LSD could be used to treat mental illness, but it became a popular street drug in the 1960s.

'Turn on, tune in, drop out'

While working with the drug in the Sandoz pharmaceutical laboratory a few years after first producing it, Mr Hofmann ingested some of the drug through his fingertips.

He went home and experienced what he described as visions of "fantastic pictures, extraordinary shapes with intense, kaleidoscopic play of colours".

The drug was popularised by Harvard professor Timothy Leary who suggested that people "turn on, tune in, drop out".

Rock stars and the counter-culture of the 1960s picked up LSD as a wonder drug but horror stories began to emerge of users suffering permanent psychological damage.

LSD was made illegal in many countries beginning in the late 1960s.

3 years later

So Teresa just reminded me that this still existed and much to my surprise I could still log in. A lot has happened since then. Now that I know this is still working I guess I will update it more.

In summary:

Moved to Asheville to the Haw Creek Mews and stayed there for about a year.
Bought a house in Candler (right outside of Asheville city limits).
Got laid off of my nice job with Retail Solutions @ Work.
Started setting houses for a living.
Got a DUI.
Quit setting houses for a number of reasons.
Started waiting tables at Red Lobster.
Got 2 driving while revoked and a whole bunch of other tickets.
Quit the Lobster because its on the far side of town.
Couldn't get another job and was doing random shit trying to make ends meet.
Became really broke.
Now a few days ago I got a new job for IWANNA doing .NET Web Development and should be starting sometime this week.

Things are starting to come back together. Now I just have to not fuck it up.

Thats the short version at least. I'll detail some of the more interesting parts at another time.

Asheville & Stuff

I've been in Asheville most of this week expect when I had to go to in to the office. Teresa has been staying up there with me so that is nice and of course seen a lot of Lauren. Things seem to be going well for the move. We found these really nice townhome style apartments that we applied for yesterday so that should be good. Once I have the new address I'll have 30 days to get all the stuff with my car transfered. My list of things to do with the move seems to be getting new items much faster than old ones are getting done. I meant to get a storage building yesterday but that didn't quite work out. Oh well. I'll do that tomorrow. I worked from the room yesterday and will probably do it again tomorrow. Thinking about getting a tattoo this weekend in Asheville. Not sure what I want to get yet though so we will see how that goes. Anyways I'd better get back to work and it is almost lunchtime too. Yay for that.

Paul Oakenfold at Myrtle Beach

So this weekend I went to see Paul Oakenfold (one of the biggest trance DJs of all time) at Myrtle Beach. I had a great time. He threw the fuck down. Best live DJ I've ever seen. Kryptonite (the club where he was) has a really nice setup. Lots of lasers and lights. They also had a super cooled fog machine. It was definitely a crazy weekend.

It all started out on Friday after I got off work. I drove to Mocksville to see Teresa for a while cause she decided she didn't want to go so I wasn't going to see her the rest of the weekend, which was sad. After spending a while with her I drove to Burlington to meet up with Todd. Then we start on the mission of collecting the various things we wanted for the rave. A stop by Walmart the previous day took glows sticks and Vic's off the list. We did a lot of riding around the Burlington area. At about 3 or 4 in the morning we got back to Todd's from Chapel Hill (the last place we had to run to). By this point we had some dank nuggets, shrooms, rolls, Adderal, a pack or two of Turkish Silvers, and a full tank of gas. We were ready to head to Wilmington. Only problem was the fact it was almost 4 in the morning. I was not about to drive any more so we slept for a few hours at Todd's.

When we woke up we tied up some loose ends, said our goodbye's and we were Wilmington bound. The drive there wasn't too bad. Hellaciously hot but uneventfull. We didn't even stop at all. Caroline hadn't been answering her phone so we walked around downtown Wilmington for a good while. Turns out Todd had been calling the other Caroline in his phone. He left her a message talking about Adderal and if she wanted some. That amused me lots. I bet that other girl was like "What the fuck? Why does he keep saying 30s?" Caroline told us she was still at work. Eventually we got directions and managed to find the movie theater where she worked. There wasn't much going on and we didn't know where she lived so we chilled there for a good hour or two.

After she got off work we went down to her boyfriend's house where we met him and his roommates. Everyone was drinking a little bit and just chilling in the living room talking. That was cool. Michael, Caroline's boy, seemed pretty cool. Todd and I both got along with him well. From there we all went back to Caroline's. She lives right near where they filmed Dawson's Creek. Like if you wanted to walk in the muckymuck of the marsh you could walk right over to it. Teresa apperciated that a little more than I did. Next time we go I'm going to try and get her to come. We won't be going to a rave next time (at least not that I know of) so she probably will. Everyone just chilled the rest of the night and fell asleep at some point.

The next morning Caroline had to take Michael to work at like 7 or something. I sure didn't wake up for that. I got up around 12 and went downstairs to find Todd half passed out and half waking up on the couch. I suppose Caroline went back to bed after she took Michael, cause we were the only ones up at this point. We shared a smoke and a resin bowl (we smoked the last of the weed behind the movies the previous night) out on the deck . Eventually Caroline came downstairs and we all chilled for a while till it was time to pick Micheal up from work and take care of a few things. After that we ate at Arby's and went back to Caroline's to kill time till we left for Myrtle. We found out that Micheal smoked when he offered to smoke a bowl. I kinda thought he did but wasn't sure. He had nuggest too so that made Todd and me pretty happy. But the real shock was when I watched Caroline hit it. See to understand this you would have to know Caroline. For the longest time she was really freaked out if you even smoked around her and now she was smoking with us. That was definitely unexpected.

More sitting around took place till we went to a friend of Micheal's where we got some 40s. We watched some TV with her and then went back to Micheal's to sit and drink until time to leave. We had probably a good hour or two. Todd decided he did want to eat some shrooms. He had been unsure about it for a bit but made up his mind so I gave him half of the 8th I had. He ate them right then. I had to drive to the rave so I was going to wait until on the way to eat mine. Tripping and driving just don't mix. A while after that we head to Myrtle. About when we were getting there my shrooms were starting to kick in. Everyone (Caroline, Micheal, Todd, and I) ate thier rolls about 15 minutes away. When we get there Micheal smoked a bowl and I put some keef on it. After we smoked that we headed into the club. Neither Todd nor I could walk straight. Oakenfold was spinning, we cracked the glowsticks and headed to the center of the floor where we all danced like crazy fools. At about 2 in the morning Caroline and Micheal were ready to go home, so we said bye to them and headed to the beach. I walked around on the beach till I was capable of driving.

The drive back was pretty uneventful. Todd slept most of the way. I had to go to work at 9 so I dropped Todd off. He chilled, played disc golf at the park, and sat around. When I got off for lunch we went to get some food and I went back to work and he prolly went back to sleep. I took him back to Burlington when I got off work. We picked up T on the way and she drove back to her house from Greensboro. Excluding the almost switching lanes into the side of an SUV, she did a great job. I was glad she drove too, let me tell you how sick I was of driving by then. We went to sleep not too long after we got there. Then 5:30 rolls around and I drive to work.

The End

Slacking Again

I haven't been updating much again. The week has been full of work, as usual. This past weekend I went to see Teresa on Thursday. We picked up Robbie, Josh, and Todd on Saturday and headed to Asheville. Walked around downtown and chilled waiting for Lauren to get off work. Met up with her and chilled on campus for a while. While searching for some stuff we came across Room 6 and Mikey. He was a cool kid and we got hizzy high with him. After messing around on campus a little more we went back to the hotel and partied. Lots of fun. In the morning we went back to campus and walked around, got caught in the rain, fun stuff. Drove back and dropped everyone off, went to Teresa's Mom's house where I stayed the night. Woke up and drove to work this morning and here I am. But I have to get back to said work. I'll try and update somemore later.

I love My Car

So I decided that when I got off work yesterday I would drive up to Burlington to get some of Lauren's stuff, see Todd and Josh, and things like that. Then I would stay at baby's house for the night and drive back in the morning for work. Lauren was with Dad and everyone already in NC because Diane's Dad had a heart attack. So Diane went to see him and Lauren went with them. I was going to meet them coming back and Lauren would switch cars.

I get on the road and everything is going well for about an hour. Then I see this gas station that I stop by every now and then. They sell single Newports and I like that since I basically quit smoking but every now and then I'll get a single. I switch lanes, exit, and park at the gas station just in time to see white smoke/steam coming from under my hood. WHAT THE FUCK?

After opening the hood I see this hose spraying steam and green shit everywhere. Turns out it was the radiator hose and it has a nice cut in it. Mmm well this is no good. It is around 7PM and I figure AutoZone type places are closed. The cleck at the gas station looks one up and it just rings off the hook. This isn't something I would be able to fix because of all the pressure I couldn't just tape it. Next call is to AAA. We go back and forth for a while only to establish that all they could do was tow me. Doesn't help me at all. Nextel 411 managed to connect me to an AutoZone that after about 10 rings someone answered. Yes, they did sell what I needed and they were open till 10.

The guy gives me the address and I type it into my GPS. Bingo, 1.78 miles away. Wonderful. On my way out of the gas station I thank the clerk and fill the radiator up with water. Once I got to the AutoZone things started looking up and I was feeling less like the remaining 90 miles would take 4 hours. It would have taken about that time if I couldn't fix it. Every time the car got hot I would have to pull off and put water in the radiator. I purchased my 12$ pipe, went out to the car, and popped the hood.

Now cars aren't really my thing but I'm not an idiot either. When I took the hose off I didn't really expect all this hot green shit to come flying at me, but fly it did. That was a rather unpleasant thing. Now I smell funny. Finally managed to get it changed out after 15 minutes or so of fucking with it. Everything looked fine when I started it up. Back to 85 Northbound thinking I'm set.

About 15 minutes later the temp gauge is red lined. Oh Shit. I pull off the highway and look at the tube with the car still running. There was shit leaking out pretty quick. After fooling with it for a while I got it to basically stop. Got back on the road and went for a while. Everything looked good so I didn't stop till I got to Teresa's house, where I promptly took a shower.

Now that I didn't smell funny anymore we got in bed. It was late so we lay there and talked while drifting off to sleep. The alarm wakes her up but I don't hear it. A little while later she wakes me up and we sit for a while. I wanted to go back to sleep but had to go to work. So about 6AM I'm headed back to Greenville. That trip was uneventful and now I'm at the office.

I think I'm going to go find out about lunch. That is all.

Hey look, I wrote in here

I can't sleep tonight and people keep telling me that I should write in here more so I guess that is what I shall do. Lets see... tomorrow I am headed to NC where I will be staying at Teresa's dad's house with her sister. This should be interesting. Friday or Saturday we are going to Burlington to party with Lauren, Josh, Todd and them. Wonderful things will be done, for sure. At some point we will probably do something with the Mocksville people. Ginny, Andrew, Teresa, and I went to see The Lords of Dogtown last weekend when I was up. That was definitely a good movie. Kinda made me want to skate more often. At some point I will be teaching Teresa how to skate. She is excited about that.

Work has been going well. About the same as always, busy and such. I picked up a contract job writing a website for this guy in Burlington. That reminds me... I probalby should start on that at some point in the near future. I am trying to get to the point where I can work off site as much as I am there. Last weekend that worked out well. I left Thursday and worked from the hotel on Friday, which is basically what I plan on doing tomorrow and every Friday I can.

Aside from work everything else is decent enough. My car has been costing a lot of money lately. Probably has something to do with the 1000+ miles I put on it a week. I just had the breaks replaced and the other night I got a flat tire at about 2 in the moring. That was fun. On the better side of it, I got SIRIUS Radio installed and a new deck that plays MP3/WMA. Totally love that. Also I have been thinking about buying a house lately so if you see a nice little place (the more land that better) you should let me know about it. Mostly I'm interested in the NC mountains and Triad area. Asheville or Winston would be nice, but if a really good deal came along down here I would take it.

Anyways I'm going to go and try to get some sleep. I have a meeting tomorrow at 8:15 to talk about some web development stuff. Everyone can be happy now cause I updated.

<3

I'm not a alcoholic, but occasionally I am a drunk

I got up a little earlier than I usually do this morning. Ha 8 instead of 8:30. But that did give me enough time to play some Halo2 before leaving for work. What better way to start a day than by shooting crazy looking alien fuckers with a shotgun. I discovered it is much colder today than it was yesterday. When I get up I just put my pants on, the shirt comes later. So without thinking I took the trash out. Wow it was chilly, I was wishing I hadn't done that.

After work last night I picked up a bottle of Korbel, seeing how it is my birthday tomorrow I wanted to get a job on the celebration you know. Ended up drinking all that along with the rest of the orange juice that was in the fridge. <3 Mimosas. Then I called Pizza Hut and tried those new dipping stick things. That shit was good. The only bad part about drinking the whole bottle of champagne was that I feel asleep before I call someone. Sorry darling.

Not much of interest going on today. Everything has been quiet here so far. Which I am glad and it is Friday, for which I'm gladder. My sister will be here today. Yay for that. I think I should put my website back up. Anyone agree? MySpace and LJ are nice and all but a bit limiting. Anyways, I'd better go earn all this money they are paying me.

I was told I needed to update this

Not much great has been going on in my life. Been working a lot as usual. Work is going well though, I like it. I don't know if I have mentioned it on here or not and I'm too lazy to look so oh well. I have been doing consulting work for the past while now with Digital Technologies Group. My current contract is with Field Marketing Inc. Which is where I happen to be right now. As a matter of professional curiosity if you know what any of the following acronyms mean post a comment [ SQL , DNS , XML , SOAP , MAC ] that's all I feel like listing.

My grandfather died and that is sad. I drank a pint of tequila. While it was a great idea at the time and it took my mind off it completely everything started going downhill at about 4 in the morning when I had just about done the last shot. That is when the vomiting started. That lasted on and off till about 9. Work was unpleasant all day. Had soup for dinner. That helped. I'm doing a little better with that now. Mostly by keeping busy, working a lot, or being fucked up. Anything to keep my mind off of it you know.

Not much else has been going on really. When I'm not at work I'm just sitting around listening to music, being online, reading, some combination of those. Haven't been going out too much. But I will be this weekend. My birthday is Saturday and I'll be turning 19. I'm going to get a room at a hotel with a heated pool because I want to go swimming and I don't have a pool. Also I'm going to get completely and totally fucked up. My sister is coming down from school in Asheville and she is going to party with me. She is bringing me wonderful things. If you are interested or want to give me gifts of illicit substances as well then you can try calling me (864-444-0717). Leave a message cause I might not be totally aware of where my phone is.

That about sums it up. I should probably get back to work and finish things up since it is getting close to closing time.

Another long day

Got up and went in to work at about 8 or so. Worked on a lot of shit at the office. 2 or 3 tech support calls, that are always fun cause you have to walk the user through the steps like a baby and ask all sorts of questions to figure out what is wrong. What would take me 5 minutes to do with my hands can take 45 to do through their hands over the phone. Always nice. Started work on creating a help desk, inventory, and shipping database. Found out I need to rewrite most of the helpdesk documents cause they think I'm that good. And a whole list of other things that I don't recall at the moment. Needless to say I've got a lot of shit going on. Then of course I'd like to have a social life on the side, go out with people I enjoy being with and the like. When it comes down to it though I'm just glad to be working in computers and making good money so eventually I won't have to work at all. Now I'm going to go pass out cause 7:00 comes early.

A summary of some thoughts of the night, comments are more than welcome, encouraged for that matter:
--Something insignificant to one could mean the world to another
--The value of a smile, a kind word, a helping hand, a listening ear is beyond calculation
--If you don't mean it, don't say it and if you do mean it, then by all means say it
--Life can be anything depending only on what part you choose to look at, to focus on
--You can be sad because it is no more, or you can be glad because it once was

There is a good bit more but I can't articulate it at the moment so it is to my bed I go. A good night to all.
